The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (FAW) is the comprehensive, gold-standard 3-day course required by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for individuals to qualify as a workplace first-aider in high-risk environments or for organisations with a higher number of employees.
This in-depth training provides you with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to manage a full range of first aid emergencies in the workplace. Successful completion validates your qualification for three years. Delivered by Close Protection Academy, a trusted Highfield-accredited centre, you will receive expert instruction to ensure you are fully prepared to meet your legal responsibilities.

Who Is This Course For?
Anyone appointed to act as the primary First Aider in the workplace where the risk assessment indicates a requirement for a fully qualified First Aider.
Those seeking a comprehensive Level 3 qualification to enhance their CV or professional competency.
Individuals whose existing FAW certificate has expired by more than 3 months and must re-take the full course to re-qualify.

Course Content:
- Understand and fulfil the roles and responsibilities of a first aider.
 - Conduct primary and secondary assessments in an emergency.
 - Administer CPR and use an AED (Defibrillator) to current standards.
 - Provide first aid for choking, unconsciousness, and proper recovery positioning.
 - Manage major injuries and illnesses, including severe bleeding, fractures, suspected spinal injuries, and head injuries.
 - Review the use of adrenaline auto-injectors (e.g., for anaphylaxis) and other major medical emergencies (heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes).
 - Correctly record incidents for legal and medical follow-up.

- Learners must be 18+ years old.
 - Must be able to communicate fluently in spoken and written English.
 - Participants must wear appropriate, comfortable clothing suitable for practical, scenario-based training.
